Lockwood High School is pleased to announce that Owen Neely, son
of Jeremy Neely and Angie Whitesell, is a recipient of the Mizzou
Stamps Scholarship, the University of Missouri’s premier scholarship
program. Stamps Scholars at the University of Missouri receive a
four-year, full scholarship (covering up to the total estimated cost
of attendance for fall and spring semesters), plus an additional
$16,000 enrichment fund to be used during the student’s four years to
enhance their studies and academic pursuits. MU Stamps Scholars must
be enrolled in the Honors College for all four years, working toward
completing the honors certificate. Stamps Scholars will also have
unique opportunities, including a dedicated mentor, contact with
campus leadership, alumni networking, funding for study abroad, and
attendance at the biennial Stamps Scholars National Convention in
Atlanta, Georgia.
As an incoming student, Owen hopes to use his enrichment fund to
study abroad and experience a new culture, as well as learn a new
language. Owen plans on majoring in biochemistry, and he is very
excited to participate in research through the College of Agriculture,
Food, and Natural Resources. His current plan is to attend medical
school after receiving his bachelor’s degree, but he is excited to
explore other opportunities in the fields of science and policy.
Congratulations, Owen!
