Great job to the following students who placed in the Dade County Soil and Water poster contest! They were able to attend the meeting and have their poster displayed: Abryana Watson, Owen Patterson, Callie Whaley, and Tahya Woods.
Reminder: school WILL be in session tomorrow, March 27th. This will be our last snow make-up day.

The High School will begin End of Course Exam testing on Monday, April 24th, 2017. We will be testing in the areas of Algebra I, English II, Biology, and American Government. Test sessions will begin in the morning and continue through the afternoon. Please make sure your student has a good night sleep and is in attendance during the testing sessions.
Again this year, the state of Missouri will be giving all juniors the ACT. This statewide ACT administration will be on April 19th. Lockwood High School juniors will take this ACT on this date at our school beginning in the morning.

Owen Neely, a sixth grader at Lockwood Middle School, represented the Lockwood School district at the Joplin regional spelling bee on March 20! There were 77 contestants at the spelling bee. Owen did an outstanding job representing our school district! The district's runner up Finley Masterson and spelling bee coordinator Rebecca Cossins, along with Owen's parents Jeremy Neely and Angie Whitesell were in attendance to cheer him on.
Softball girls will start the Mt. Vernon tournament today. They will play at 4:00, 5:45, and 7:30!
Summer school enrollment packets are now available in the elementary office. We would like to have as many students enroll as possible! Summer school is from May 15th-June 15th. If you get perfect attendance then you get a $100 gift card, 1 absence $75, 2 absences $50. There are also daily prize drawings and big prize drawings each week! (Example: T.V. or Kayak).
Spring sports start today with baseball in the Lamar tournament vs Diamond at 3! Don't forget to download our school app, Lockwood R-1 Schools, to find the spring sports schedules.

-Reminder, kindergarten Screening will be held Wednesday, March 29 from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Elementary building. Please contact Heather at 417-232-4528 to set up a time to have your incoming kindergarten student screened. All incoming kindergartners must turn 5 before August 1.
